After-School Program & Kids Cafeyouth

United Neighbors, Inc. After School Youth Program -----offers after school tutoring in addition to homework help during the school year on Tuesday,Wednesday, and Thursday. Ages 5 - 12 years old. Hours are 4 to 6:30pm.

Kids Cafe .... Nutritional meals provided, after scheduled activities on those days listed above.

Adult and high school student volunteers provide individual help in reading, writing, literature interpretation, math, computer literacy.

As we move towards knowledge-based economy, our program emphasizes math, computer and technical skills that will be vital to getting future jobs and financial success.We also provide children the opportunity to learn and enhance and participate in recreation activities.Our program address today's most pressing youth issues, and teaching young people the skills they need to succeed in life.Our programs are available in the areas of education, the environment, health, leadership development and athletics.

Our Summer Parks Program

Summer Parks Program will continue to go full strength at three parks throughout the summer Emeis, Harrington and Cork Hill. starting June 14th and conclude on July 16th. It is open to children between the ages of 5 thru 12.Activities will take place beginning June 14,2010 Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

For this years summer program, we hope to repeat the same established tradition of success and fun of the previous years.When the summer progam gets into full swing, we have planned various activities for the children.

Alternative Suspension Program

In partnership with Davenport Central and North High Schools, this program provides supervision and community service placements for students who are under suspension.  The student meets with counselors and United Neighbors staff to address the reason or reasons for the suspension.We also work with the parents and students to ensure that suspension does not happen again
