Neighborhood Organizing
By organizing, with support and consultation from
United Neighbors, residents come together to reduce crime, beautify their area, and reconnect with each other in a spirit of community. Activities and programs include:
- Neighborhood watch and winning strategies against drug houses
- Grants program for neighborhood-generated improvement projects
- Annual Cleansweep Day coordination each Spring
- National Night Out Against Crime event every August
- Building safer Communities Neighborhood Success Awards
- Training in capacity building techniques and leadership development
- Quarterly city-wide “Gathering of Neighborhoods”, candidate forums and issue forums
